It seemed like a good idea when we signed up six months ago… A fun team name (“Aching Bad”), over a dozen women in the group, a summertime obstacle course and beer afterwards.
As the time for the race draws nearer, reality has begun setting in for me. Even in summer, plunging into a skip full of ice water isn’t going to be easy. And the obstacle course involves a bit more than climbing under netting (sample obstacle name – “The Human BBQ”). Our team name now seems less of a pun and more of a prophesy.
At least the beer will get the taste of the mud out of my mouth…
Mum has done mud races before, and so has a lot of good advice for me, but I’d appreciate any more that you have to offer. Tips on surviving an obstacle course, please! How do you think I should be training?
